Who is LiveWell Kershaw Coalition? The LiveWell Kershaw Coalition is made up of local organizations, non-profits, schools, and businesses that seek to improve the health of Kershaw County. We believe that to create sustainable change in our community, we must include the voice and vision of youth in all phases of our journey. Our efforts are funded by The Duke Endowment through Healthy People, Healthy Carolinas and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.

What would my job duties include? As a summer Health Ambassador, you will take the lead on crafting a wellness project for your school-based wellness club. You will assist in data gathering and data collection for your school, as well as determine the best methods for linking all Kershaw County High School youth-led health clubs together to make your impact even larger. You will assist with other health initiative activities as needed. You will be encouraged to color outside the lines and tap into your creativity!

Will I be paid? Yes, this is a paid internship. If selected, you will be compensated at the rate of $7.25/hr.

How many hours will I work per week? You will be required to work 15 hours per week, along with completing several take home assignments.

How long will the internship last? This internship will begin on June 11, 2019 and end on August 17, 2019.

Where will I be working and do I need my own transportation? Our work location will vary. We may work at the Community Medical Clinic of Kershaw County, the Kershaw County Library, one of the high schools, the Kershaw County School district Office, or another location within our county. We understand that transportation is a huge issue for our community. However, you will be expected to be at your designated work location on time. You may not have your own transportation but you will need a reliable source of transportation available to you.

What is the likelihood that I will be selected for this internship opportunity? This internship opportunity is competitive. Two students will be selected per high school in Kershaw County.
