Reflection from Deniah about LWK summer internship
This summer I have had a great experience working with my fellow interns, leaders in the community, and LiveWell Kershaw. There are a lot of things that I will take away from this summer such as how to eat healthier, manage my stress, and more. By far one of the most important things to me that I have done this summer is our work with Brain Breaks, because I feel like if we get them in our schools then we will help out a lot of students. For instance, a small break can have the greatest influence on a student that can prevent a mental break down or raising their stress levels. I have also learned that people are willing to help and give up their free time, which personally helps me build my character. As a matter of fact, it means that I don’t always have to be so independent and do things on my own all of the time. In addition, to what I loved about this summer was meeting people in the community and this internship gave me the chance to hear people’s story, what they do for a living, why they do it, and why they want to help us and the youth in general. I’ve had the opportunity to make new friends and form new bonds with people that has given me advice for my club and personally for myself, which has inspired me to do more great things.
