Reflection from Destiny about the LWK summer internship
WOW is all I can say. As I’m writing this, I’m trying to gather all my feelings. This summer has been very empowering to me. Before even taking this job, I wanted to work on finding myself. The definition of wow is expressing admiration. My wow moment would be this internship. I have learned so many great things that I can take and apply to my life. Each guest speaker we had taught me cool things.
One of my favorite things was how to read food labels. Everything that glitters is not gold. Foods that use all these nice words like fresh and natural can be misleading. When reading the ingredients, it’s important that you watch out for certain colors like Red 40 and Yellow 6. I learned that not everything is good for the body and that we should treat it like a Ferrari. I also learned that having connections with people and making relationships is very important. Chris taught us that for every jerk out there, there are three other wonderful human beings.
Overall, this was a very WOW experience for me. I have learned the value of teamwork, but also the importance of changing and making a better decision to become the root of the change. I admire each and every one I have met during this internship. I have learned the value of self-love and loving others.
